Randy H. Johnson
Welcome To In Season Ministries
and the temporary web home of The Lighthouse of Truth Church of God.
Not that we are competent in ourselves to claim anything for ourselves, but our competence comes from God. He has made us competent as ministers of a new covenant—not of the letter but of the Spirit; for the letter kills, but the Spirit gives life.
This is the personal ministry website of Randy H. Johnson. On September 20, 2009, Randy was appointed
pastor of The Lighthouse of Truth Church of God in Huntington, Indiana. The church building is located at 676 S. Briant St. The church presently meets on Sunday mornings at 10:00 AM.
Thank you for coming here.
The purpose of this ministry and this website is to proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord. God is real.
He can be known and wants to be known by every human being on this planet. God sent Jesus to enable us
to know Him in a personal and intimate way.
The path to knowing God begins with two steps:
- Believing God exists
- Diligently seeking Him
Believing God exists and diligently seeking Him are part of the definition of faith. The resources on this website are designed to assist you in seeking the knowledge of God and growing in faith. Jesus called this knowledge of God eternal life. Just before His arrest, and subsequent trial and crucifixion, Jesus prayed this prayer:
"Father, the time has come. Glorify your Son, that your Son may glorify you. For you granted him authority over all people that he might give eternal life to all those you have given him. Now this is eternal life: that they may know you, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom you have sent."
The good news about Jesus Christ is that He has made it possible for all people everywhere to be reconciled to God and to inherit eternal life. He did this through his death, burial and resurrection. As a result of what Jesus did people can now know God in a personal and intimate way through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.
Christ redeemed us from the curse of the law by becoming a curse for us, for it is written: "Cursed is everyone who is hung on a tree." He redeemed us in order that the blessing given to Abraham might come to the Gentiles through Christ Jesus, so that by faith we might receive the promise of the Spirit.
